DAY 1 NAIROBI >> ARUSHA
After you breakfast we shall pick you from your Nairobi hotel depart for Arusha town via Namanga border for immigration formalities and arrive in time for your lunch, afternoon spend the afternoon organizing on your climbing gear dinner and overnight in an Arusha hotel
DAY 2 ARUSHA LAVA CAVES
After your breakfast transfer to Marangu gate and then to umbwe village to start the climb this will take you about 4hrs The climb will take you through the rain forest to camp at the caves 2800metres above level
DAY 3 LAVA CAVES>> BARRANCO
After your breakfast hike along a sharp ridge giving a distinct high mountain feeling then on the moorland camp and arrive by mid afternoon stay at Barranco hut 3900m above sea level
DAY 4 BARRANCO HUT>> ARROW GLACIER
Trek for 4hrs and camp at the foot of the Arrow glacier this will have taken you through enormous breach walls dinner and overnight and acclimatization at around 4900m above sea level from this point you will be in a position to watch fantastic rays of the sunset behind Mt Meru to the western side
DAY 5 ARROW GLACIER KILIMANJARO CRATER RIM
Depart Arrow glacier and climb further the same steep walls and scrambling up the screen and across the frozen lava on the tottering wall Dinner and overnight at the crater rim of mount Kilimanjaro
DAY 6 KILIMANJARO CRATER RIM HOROMBO HUT
Attempt to reach Uhuru peak 5896m above sea level which is the highest point in Africa Descend via Gilman’s point and onto Horombo hut for dinner and overnight Horombo hut will be at an attitude of 3761m above the sea level
DAY 7 HOROMBO HUT >> ARUSHA
After your breakfast descend to HMarangu park gate via Mandara where you will be picked by your van to Arusha for dinner and overnight
DAY 8 ARUSHA >> NAIROBI
After your breakfast depart Arusha for Nairobi through Namanga
For immigration formalities proceed on to Nairobi arriving late afternoon or early evening
